There were two, I swear, they were there in the basket, they matched and were paid for together, what are they?

Socks!

There are many facts about socks:

Washing machines eat them

dogs chew them

Santa Claus stuffs them

They keep your feet (or hands whatever your fetish) warm, they come in pairs and about a month after being bought, no matter where you look the 'other' sock can never be found.They get put into drawers as a couple, something happens overnight as they reappear single.

What do we do?


We spend hours looking for them, wondering where they could have gone.
We put them to one side in the hope that their partners will reappear, we use them as furniture polishers, golf club covers, the one known fact about socks is that we will do anything before we will wear odd socks.
