Buy Him a Willy Care Kit for Christmas! mmm or maybe a pair of Socks

Yes it is true, you can buy the man in your life a care kit for his third leg.
The Willy Care Kit comes packaged beautifully and contains:

A silverware "fluffing brush", styling "shears", a silverware "sprucing" mirror and a metal "bracelet" complete with mini medallion, for that special evening wear occasion (it is, in fact a very upmarket "willy care kit"). All these items come packed in a luxurious, hard, leather look case to add a touch of class to this fine, personal grooming collection.

When I was a nurse on a ward of 28 men, that bracelet would have need a link or two removed for some I can tell you!

Failing that you buy him a Gentleman's Ball Scratcher, no it is not for the Golfer.

My Home

The moon above my house

The weather changed today and it became a little chillier, that is fine by me as I am returning to the Uk on the 29th and I need breaking in to that freeze down I will experience. When I say it is chillier, it is 20dgrees, but when you have been in the high 40's and 30's for so long it is chilly.
I was out and about recently and decided to take the camera to share a few pictures with you all.

Is the UK going to far??

DH and myself were a middle aged couple, professional, medical people. We looked right and left when crossing the road and had no longer needed anyone holding our hand for several years. Along with less and less in our pay packet, high taxes and bills, came the 'you can't do that anymore, that is no longer allowed'.
Practices of traditions stemming back many years were stopped because of...Health and Saftey. We had enough of the nanny state and big brother attitude and left, the year we left saw 1000's of others flee, all about the same age group. Alot of expats left for the same reasons.
Today I came across these stories, I watched here in Cyprus buildings going up with guys wearing flip flops, they survived, it was their choice to do so, sadly, the sue the state mindset have caused children to lose out over the years, soon it will be, you can't breath here the air is not 100%, or you can't go to war you might get killed. Health and Saftey has gone too far in my opinion, the right to choose is lost and where are the statistics to show these things have happened? What might happen is not good enough, do we wrap up newborns in blankets (fluff free, solid stitching, colour safe, 12x12 square, no allergenic, just the right amount of softness level 6) of course. Adult 'children' lean on their parents more (fact) is it because they are losing the brain cells that allow them to think for themselves? Will they lose the sense of danger sensory cell, because it is not used enough? Will a new race form that cannot function without a robotic sidekick telling them what to do?
As for not allowing children to pick daisies to make daisy chains!! My best friend Angie must be turning in her grave, we never got germs from having made memories, that is what our daisy chain days are for me now, precious memories, no you cannot take that away from me, but for pity's sake let 2 little girls in 2008 make their memories together!!
Rant over! (well for today).

Hurray for the Wonky Carrot!

So the powers that be in the eu have said we can go back to having certain wonky veg. Well here in Cyprus they ignored the rules anyway (that's what I love about them) and DH certainly broke the eu certain size veggie rule, check out his Aubergines / Egg plants.

The' small 'ones are the 'normal' shop size & his prize one is standing next to my handbag.
If you imagine a large melon that is the size the weight is 2kg (unfortunately the pics don't show up that well)

To find out what fruit and veg are being left alone and the ones the eu still say must have regulations
Big brother says, bent bannana ok, curved cucumber can stay~ with the state of the economy surely any thing will do, just reduce the price and let the people eat cheaply.

I nearly won the 2008 Troodos Cyprus Car Rally !!

The Troodos hills and Polemi village were alive this morning, here in Cyprus. The second day of the 2008 Troodos Car Rally got underway.

Engine noise and tyre squeals were heard at the crack of dawn.

FIA Middle Eastern Rally Championship 2008

Round 6 – Troodos Rally – 7-9 November 2008

I am not sure who the winner is yet ( I don't think it is me) but on our trip out to lunch we got caught in the rally traffic, ( learn more,) they have no policing and the drivers have to use public roads to get from a, b and c.

I captured the moments when a Rover City Rover 1.4, imported from UK 4yrs ago, branded by Jeremy Clarkeson ( Top Gear Uk) as the worst car ever ( never let us down yet but hated by my DH, he loved his Mazda MX5) held off the Troodos Rally 2008 Competitors, not by choice but by highway code circumstances, it took this poor guy an absolute age to get past us! DH indicated in, pulled in and then just gave up, we got a honk and thumbs up when they went by and did a little 'dance' in the road for us, the second car called out thanks and blew me a kiss, DH let it go, lol. Some of the sunday traffic would not let them by, and put their foot down, I feel that was not 'sportsman' like, as soon as we got chance and they obviously felt it safe enough, we pulled over and they went by. It was fun to be part of the heart beating event.

I loved every minute of feeling I was part of Cyprus history today, I felt this is really my new home.

Fourteen Days and Counting!

It is now only days away from when I return to the UK for the first time since 2005. Those who have returned tell me I will notice huge changes, will be shocked at the cost of everything and will be nervous of the crowds that hang around streets.
The other 'friends' then tell me, on finding out DH is going to be home alone, that he will be so free and happy that I am not there (we have not been apart for more than 2 weeks total in 30yrs).
Then the really thoughtful ones, on finding out I am flying alone, proceed to tell me about when their plane dropped 110ft, the wing dropped off, caught fire or worse.
Oh and the sensitive souls always remember to warn me of the dirty old men at the airport, the handbag snatchers and what to look for in terrorist activities.
Then you get your soul mate, the love of your life, the one who has held you since you were 17 years old(51 now), send you this BBC NEWS
Then there are your kids, those now adults who you breathed gas for, lost your figure for , those same now adults that you allowed your breasts to become cow pumps for, those very cherubs send you this

Okay, you can stop laughing now and I will read your horror stories in the comments box...cheers friends!

The Color Purple

I like many others around the world congratulate Mr and Mrs Obama, I say that for without her support he would not be where he is today, the newly elected President of the United States.

Will Michelle Obama be known as Mrs O ? I wonder...

The two photographs show this lady can carry off colour and the color purple is definately one that suits her, note how I manage to add in one of my favorite books!

Hunting Season

The hunting season starts today in Cyprus, we awoke to the sound of the pop pop of guns around the hills, Sundays and Wednesdays are non-dog walking days until Feb.
There is nothing left to shoot on the island, they just love the macho image of roaring around in 4x4s and wearing camoflage. Europe is trying to step up the rulings, it will be interesting to see the figures in the paper tomorrow, how many dead and injured there are. Sadly every year there is at least one or two fatalities.

This is one years recordings: Two dead, 17 injured

Do I agree with this? What do you think?

Pub-goers in Aberdeen are facing a drugs test before entering bars as part of a crackdown by Grampian Police...

I would feel the pub/bar was an undesirable place to go if the police were there doing this, and I would not feel comfortable drinking there.
