DH and me in disguise again, (by the evening dancing, I was in trousers and relaxed).
I am back from the UK and have now gained a daughter in law.
A son-in-law and daughter - in-law within 8 weeks is very exciting!
The wedding day was wonderful, sunny and no wind to blow the hats and veil around. The chicken in my hair was very good and sat in place all day.
The incredible thing was, I had joked with the villagers and told them I would take the sun and send them rain from the UK. It was sunny in the UK and rained for 5 days out of 7 here in our village!!
My son arranged a casino fun evening for his reception, I learned to play black jack and how to lose $20,000 in 5 minutes. Not my field of expertise but good fun anyway.
Darren also broke with tradition and had a best woman instead of a male supporter. He is seen here with Stephanie, she was a wonderful organiser and made the day a great event.

Darren and Stephanie.
My new daughter in law Vivienne, the new Mrs Smy!

Her bridesmaids. The bride and groom lived with 5 of the 6 girls in this picture, what a life my son had before his marriage! Glamour all around.

Not only did Viv get married on the Saturday, she was flying off to an unknown destination for her honeymoon, Bali. She will also be emigrating from there with my son to Vancouver. It was a very emotional weekend.
The cake was Canadian themed (click for a better view).

Ps: Here is a link to Two Children of Our Hearts, it is the poem I wrote and recited for them on the day. I was okay until my son winked at me as I was reading the final verse, the farewell verse. My voice gave way to emotion and trembled.

Nice to have you back Glynis, it looks like you had a great time. Thanks for bringing the sunshine with you, and leaving it for a while, as it was sadly lacking beforehand.

Thank you for sharing. You looked lovely. Glad to have you back.
The chicken and the cake are very funny! How did you get the poultry to sit still for so long? But congrats on the new family.
Everyone looks so lovely. That was really very touching to read what you wrote. How did you ever get through it all?
