New For New Year...Glynis Fights Back

Glynis fights back with New For New Year.

No more anonymous commenters...they are not entitled to visit and comment on this quality coffee break blog. Friends have been coming in, knocking at the door politely. Now the neighbourhood is under threat from door to door salesmen.

To the commenter who left me abuse about my life in Cyprus...it is the North that is occupied and how jealous of me are you?

Well my friends, as soon as I find out how to change things, this will have those horrid little letters and numbers for you to leave a comment. Please leave them, they are part of the blog, don't be put off. Thanks.

Amen to that Glynis! I make sure that moderation of comments is on so these spammers don't leak my page rank.

Sorry to hear about the spam, Glynis! I also got so many that I have to turn on my moderation too.

Sympathy here as well, it seems to have got worse lately, sadly it means mine can't be left unmoderated either, and it's a real pain weeding out the wheat from the chaff, don't you just hate these pesky little critters! Like your blog by the way :-)

Good for you, Glynis! It's annoying, isn't it, that we have to take measures to get around annoying and bitter people. I love your blog and I 'll gladly type in those little letters. Sometimes, the word verifications can be rather funny!

Happy New Year!
Jen

Hiya! I'm always so sorry when spam comments ruin another blogger's blogging. It is just unfair and I've seen them do horrible things to blogs (like copy and paste the same chinese text over 50 posts while the bloger was on holiday).

To combat that, I have moderation open on all posts over 7 days old but I don't have it for new posts. What I do do is delete all spam comments straight away and that comment on your previous entry was definitely spam. What they do is post a "test" comment and then when you don't delete it straight away, they start posting more and more. Of course, sometimes they post more and more anyway but it should keep it dow a bit more if you are vigilant!
